Tipton County’s college access coaches were excited to host the Tipton County high schools at our college summit. We welcomed recruiters from twelve colleges and universities, a representative from TSAC , and over 200 students.

Munford High School Choir Students Earned All-Northwest Honors

The Munford High School choir, under the direction of Mr. Doug Young, made history in September when more than 70 of its 175 members auditioned for the All-Northwest Honor Choir. The auditions resulted in 47 students being selected to the honor choir, 17 students selected in the top 10 and seven students selected top three in their voice category. Zeke Yarbro and Klara Cope placed first in their vocal categories. This marks the second consecutive year that the first chair soprano student was from MHS.

The choir students will be auditioning in December for the All-State Honor Choir.

AES Hosts Back To School Tailgate

Austin Peay Elementary held its first annual Back-to-School Tailgate Party on August 5, to kick-off the 2019-2020 school year. AES gained support from community organizations and local churches to provide students with free school supplies. This provided AES the opportunity to meet and share pertinent information regarding the upcoming school year. AES has many family and community activities coming up this school year. Tipton County AG teachers become CASE Certified

Three of our agriculture teachers, Liz Flanagan, Bryan Cole, and Ashley Bringle recently completed the CASE AFNR course held July 21-31 in Memphis. They are the first group of TCS teachers to become CASE Certified. All three did an excellent job of acting both as a student and a teacher when completing 180 days’ worth of instruction in less than two weeks, and they are now certified in a powerful tool available for the advancement of agricultural education and enhancement of student learning of agricultural science subject matter.

BHS HOSA congratulates Jackson Almeda and Kozy Hubbard

Jackson Almeda placed in the top ten in speaking skills at the HOSA national competition. She prepared a speech on the national HOSA topic, “Defining your purpose." There were over 30 competitors from all over the world.
Kozy Hubbard placed second in the Home Health Aide category. Kozy had to take a standardized test over various home health care topics. When she advanced to the second round, she was taken to a local hospital in Orlando and had to perform two tasks typical of a home health aide.
