First Ever Tipton County Indoor Percussion Ensemble Places in Competition!!

Indoor Performance Group
Tipton County Schools had a collection of 25 musicians to compete on February 3rd at the SCGC (Southern Color Guard Circuit) Rhythm & Silks Contest in Thompson Station, TN. This ensemble represents all three county high schools. In competing against ten other school groups they earned FOURTH PLACE!! This Indoor Percussion Ensemble is much like a marching band as it competes in both music and movement. This is a “first” for Tipton County Schools! Mr. Jeff Moore, teacher at Brighton High School, is the instructor along with technicians/students from the University of Memphis. Auditions were held in November and the students have been practicing ever since. Practices sessions must take place after school, on holidays, and weekends since the group is composed of students from all three high schools. Tipton County is very proud of the accomplishment of these students!
