Frequently Asked Questions

What is Adult Education?

The Adult Education program gives another option to high schoolers who aren't on track to graduate or anyone out of school, aged 16-24.  Our classes focus on high school equivalency diploma preparation.  All classes are free?  If your goal is to advance to a college or training program, or get a good job opportunity, Adult Education is right for you.

What is High School Equivalency?

A high school equivalency diploma is a secondary school credential.  Just like a "regular" diploma, an HSE diploma opens the door to better jobs, college, or training programs.  In Tennessee, you earn a HSE diploma by passing the HiSET Exam.

Can I take the HiSET exam for free?

YES! To receive a voucher that allows you to take the HiSET exam for free, you must be a Tennessee resident and take a qualifying practice test.  Contact our program today to learn more.

How can I sign up for Adult Education?

You must be over the age of 18 and not enrolled in high school.
