Changes in TNReady Testing
Tennessee Department of Education Commission Dr. Candice McQueen issued separate letters today to parents and teachers in an effort to answer questions and acknowledge feedback received from both groups regarding the change in testing due to issues with the state's new online assessment. Monday, February 8, 2016, Tennessee students were scheduled to begin taking the state's new online assessments. When testing began the vendor experienced new issues with their network which resulted in the state calling a halt to testing. Late Monday afternoon the decision was made by the Department of Education to cease online testing in order to protect instructional time and ensure a positive testing experience for students.
The Department of Education will issue further guidance to school districts by the end of the week regarding TNReady and how district's will move forward administering the tests.
