Paraprofessional Information

 

Persons interested in applying for a paraprofessional position should be aware of requirements for employment prior to requesting an application at the Tipton County Board of Education. Based on Federal guidelines set forth under No Child Left Behind (NCLB), any person seeking employment as a paraprofessional in the Tipton County Schools must meet the minimum requirements established for the position. According to NCLB guidelines, a person must have:
  • at least 48 hours of college credit OR
  • an Associates Degree OR
  • have a high school diploma/GED and have made a passing score on the PRAXIS Paraprofessional Exam.

 

In Tennessee the minimum score for the Paraprofessional Exam is 456. More information about the PRAXIS Paraprofessional Exam and test dates may be found on the ETS website.

The Tipton County Board of Education is not a test site and
does not administer the PRAXIS Paraprofessional test online.


If you meet the qualifications and are interested in applying for a paraprofessional position, you may pick up a teacher assistant application Monday - Friday, from 8:00 - 4:00. At this time we do not post support staff positions on this web site.
