BUSINESS PROFESSIONALS OF AMERICA (BPA)

Mission Statement: The mission of Business Professionals of America is to contribute to the preparation of a world-class workforce through the advancement of leadership, citizenship, academic, and technological skills.

Qualifications for Membership:

  1. Business Professionals of America is composed of men and women enrolled as students in secondary and post-secondary courses or programs in business and office occupations, or collegiate students enrolled in business education or business administration.
  2. Members must pay dues of $20.00.

DECA

Mission Statement: To develop leadership characteristics, self-confidence and self-acceptance, ethical standards in personal and business relationships, greater efficiency in communication, appreciation of the responsibilities of citizenship, and social and business etiquette.

Purpose:

  • To further develop education in marketing which will contribute to occupational competence
  • To promote understanding of and appreciation for the responsibilities of citizenship in our free, competitive enterprise system
Qualification for Membership: Must be enrolled in a marketing course

FCCLA (FUTURE COMMUNITY AND CAREER LEADERS OF AMERICA)

Mission Statement: To promote personal growth and leadership development through roles of family member, wage earner, and community leader. Members develop skills for life through: character development, creative and critical thinking, interpersonal communication, practical knowledge, and vocational preparation.

Qualifications for Membership:

  1. Completion of one semester Family and Consumer Science coursework.
  2. Currently enrolled in a Family and Consumer Science Class.
  3. Pay dues of $20.00.

Munford FFA Chapter

Mission Statement: FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth , and career success through agricultural education.

Qualifications for Membership:

  1. Be enrolled in at least one agricultural education course during the school year. The course must plan for a Supervised Agricultural Experience Program, the objective of which is the preparation for an agricultural career. 
  2. Show an interest in the affairs of the organization by attending meetings, striving for degrees of membership, and participating in other organized activities of the chapter.
  3. Pay all current state, national, West Tennessee, and local chapter dues which are set at $16.00 per year.
  4. Display conduct consistent with the ideals and purposes of the National FFA Organization.

FRENCH CLUB

Mission Statement: The purpose of the French Club is to provide students opportunities to live and experience the French language and culture by providing cultural; and enrichment activities.

Qualifications for Membership: The French Club is open to any French II student or to those who have already completed French II. Each member must have completes an application form and submitted a five dollar membership.

FUTURE TEACHERS OF AMERICA (FTA)

Mission Statement: The mission of the FTA is to interest students in becoming teachers, administrators, and/or professional educators in related fields. 

Qualifications for Membership:
Prospective members must be sophomores, juniors, or seniors and meet the following criteria:

  1. Each prospective student must maintain at least a 2.5 average on a 4.0 scale.
  2. Secure the endorsement of two faculty members.
  3. Secure an administrator's signature stating that the student's conduct on campus is considered satisfactory.
  4. Write an essay explaining why he/she desires membership in FTA.
  5. Successfully complete an interview with the club sponsor.
  6. Commit to fifteen community service hours through the organization.

KEY CLUB

Overview: Key Club is a community service organization for students in grades 9-12,and is affiliated with the Kiwanis Club.  

Dues: $25 per year

Requirements for the Club are:

  1. Members must meet community service hours requirements each month

  2. Favorable recommendations from teachers

MUNFORD ACADEMIC KNOWLEDGE TEAM

Mission Statement: To promote self-motivating acquisition of knowledge as a life-long trait through academic competitions and individual/team study.

Qualifications for Membership:

  1. Self-motivation
  2. Completion of admission testing program
  3. Willing to work in and out of school on team activities
Overview:
The Munford Academic Knowledge Team is composed of self-motivated members from each grade level. The two teams complete against other teams from the tri-state area. Practice is after school and competitions are usually on Saturdays. Interested students should contact either of the coaches, Mr. Barger or Mrs. Zumwalt.

MHS SPANISH HONOR SOCIETY

Mission Statement: The purpose of the Spanish Club is to broaden the educational experience of each member to a degree which would not be possible in the classroom.

Dues: $10 per year

Requirements for Membership:

  1. Students must maintain a "B" average or higher for the last semester of Spanish taken. 
  2. If currently enrolled, they must maintain a "B" average or higher for the last semester of Spanish.
  3. If a student drops below a "B" average, he is placed on academic probation for a marking period. If the student does not return his grade to a "B" average, he becomes an inactive member until such time as his grade average returns to a "B" or higher.

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY (NHS)

Requirements for Membership
Scholarship: Minimum 3.3 G.P.A.
Leadership: Represented by participation and positions held in various organizations
Service: Represented by community service performed during high school years
Character: Represented by conduct inside the classroom as well as in personal/family life

SPEECH AND DRAMA CLUB

Mission Statement:

  1. To organize participation in Speech and Drama Tournaments.
  2. To stimulate interest in theatre arts and forensic competition.
  3. To cultivate expertise in a wide range of competitive Speech and Drama performance categories.
  4. To provide performance and rehearsal opportunities for students of theatre arts.
  5. To lay the groundwork for future Speech and Drama Tournaments to be held at Munford High School.

Qualifications for Membership:
Membership is open to any student who is currently enrolled in or has completed a theatre arts class in high school.

STUDENT COUNCIL

Mission Statement: To provide a liaison between the staff and the student body and to develop leadership and service skills of students.

Qualifications for Membership: The standing membership is composed of officers from each class elected by students of the class the previous spring. A nonvoting Secretary is chosen by the President from President is elected by the entire student body the previous spring before serving.

Mission Statement: To promote vocational and industrial skills.

Qualifications for Membership:

  1. Good attitude working with others.
  2. Average or above average intelligence.
  3. Willing to work in and out of school on club activities.
