The Career Center at Munford High School opened in October, 1998 in the Library/Media Center. Initial funding for the center came from a
Goals 2000 grant. The Career Center includes six Pentium II computers with internet access, TV/VCR, video camera and typewriter as well as over 300 books, 150 videos, and numerous computer programs and college catalogs. The Career Center was designed to provide students with current information relating to vocational and educational opportunities, career planning and job search skills. The intent of the Career Center is to create a central location where students can utilize the latest technology and up-to-date information as they consider the numerous occupational and educational
opportunities they may pursue upon graduation. The Career Center will be evaluated each spring through student and teacher surveys so that it can be continually up-dated and improved. Funding for the 1999-2000 schools year has been obtained through a grant from the Tipton County Education Edge Partnership.
Use:
Students may obtain a pass to the Career Center for study hall or come before and after school. Teachers may bring their classes to the Career Center for class projects or they may check out materials to be used in their classrooms. The Career Center also contains resource materials for teachers so that career planning may be incorporated into the curriculum. Students may check out most books overnight. The books are due back by 8:00 a.m. the following school day. Fines for late books are the same as with other library books. There are some books which are considered "Reference" and may not be checked out. Students are welcome to print information off the internet, the charge is 10 cents per page and photocopying from books is 5 cents per page. (This is library policy.)

Information in the Career Center can be broken into five areas.
