e4TN receives USDLA award - link to Press Release 4/30/2009 Tipton County is a participant in the e4TN online learning initiative. The state initiative was launched to develop meaningful and interactive curriculum for online courses. Information and applications are available for the terms listed below: Online Course Policy Tipton County Board of Education policy for Alternative Credit Options (4.209) states, "High school students may earn a maximum of four (4) units of academic credit to be applied toward graduation requirements by completing online courses offered through agencies approved by the Board. As determined by board policy, students applying for permission to take a virtual or online course shall complete prerequisites and provide teacher/counselor recommendations to confirm the student possesses the maturity level needed to function in an online learning environment. In addition, the express approval of the principal/designee shall be obtained before a student enrolls in a virtual or online course. The school must receive an official record of the final grade before credit toward graduation will be recognized. The tuition/fee for a virtual or online course shall be borne by the student/parent for students enrolled full-time." Contacts
