Information Section

Welcome to my home page at Crestview Middle School.
I teach Computer Skills & Technology, a 9 weeks related arts class.

Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth grade students attend this class in one nine weeks period to...

-- Enrich their knowledge in the use of technology, but also share some disadvantages when it comes to using technology,

-- Continue enriching their proper keyboarding techniques to the best of their ability.

-- Inform the students of the latest technological advances,

-- Assist students in familiarizing them with beginner to intermediate report writing,

-- Create beginner, intermediate, or advanced slide shows,

-- Exploring spreadsheets,

-- And explore career choices (8th graders).

Students will have the opportunity to utilize the Internet for research and development of projects in class.

Grades are assigned as numbers corresponding to Tipton County Grade Scale:
93 - 100 is an A
85 - 92 is a B
75 - 84 is a C
70 - 74 is a D

0 - 69 is a F

Conduct grades are issued in various forms of S, N, or U.

Averages greater than 100 will be 100.

Attendance: Please be present at school each day. We understand that sickness does occur and we cannot anticipate it. If you are sick (any form of communicable ailment, vommitting, high fever, etc.), get to a doctor.

Tardiness: Your punctuality is also important. Be on time with your class. I will allow 4 to 5 additional minutes after the majority of the class arrives to my door. However, an excuse will be REQUIRED if you do not want to be counted TARDY to my class. Three tardies equals a day after school with either me or grade level detention date. There are other lists you can be placed on too....no dance list.....no fun Friday, etc.

Please note that lessons can be modified due to unforeseen events or factors that might prevent the lesson to take place.

Assignments can be made up if the student was present for the lecture portion of the topic in discussion. However, if the student was absent the whole time from the beginning of a certain topic discussion, a DR will be entered for the student so that the assignment is not counted against them.

Note: Most assignments are done in class which has very little to no homework or completed graded work to take home to show. I encourage parents to sign up with K12 Planet to monitor student progress throughout the nine weeks and the year. Please click the K12 Planet in the menu items to the left to visit CMS's K12 Planet web page.
