Scholarships
Please
make sure that you keep copies of letters from colleges. If you have received a
letter stating that you have been awarded a scholarship from a certain school,
even if you are not going to attend there, I need to know about it. I will be
passing out a form for you to write down all of the scholarships that you have
been offered. It is important for you to keep up with those scholarships and
the amounts. I will need to know who offered you the scholarship (college,
company, civic club, etc.) and the amount of the scholarships.
Example:
Hope Scholarship - $4,000
Rotary Scholarship - $500
We
announce the total amount of scholarships awarded on graduation night. So, please
keep up with this important information. I will be confirming these
scholarships that you turn in.
·
Names on Diplomas
I
will be coming around soon to get you to verify your name that you will have on
your diploma. Whatever the name is on
your birth certificate will have to be on your diploma. It does not
matter what you may think it should be. Your
birth certificate is your legal document and we have to go by that unless
you have had changes on it and have not informed the school.
·
Hope Scholarship:
I
have talked to a few of you that are qualified and that have not filled out the
FAFSA. You are giving up free money for college! Come by the guidance office
and get a FAFSA form or go online at www.fafsa.ed.gov
and fill out the form. You will need to do this ASAP or your money may not be
awarded to you. In other words, no FAFSA, no money! Please don’t let this
opportunity slip away. Qualifications
= 3.0 GPA OR 21 ACT

Final Transcripts
You
will need to decide where you need your FINAL transcript sent. By now, most of
you that plan to attend some type of post-secondary institution should know
which college you are going to. I will pass out a form for you to tell me where
that final transcript is going to. Please keep it limited to one.
