WHAT IS Project excell?
The goal of Project EXCELL is to plan, develop, implements, and coordinate a program of educational support services that will positively
impact the
at-risk students of Tipton County.
Students will have an opportunity to enhance skills in academics
and also take advantage or structured recreational and cultural activities.
EXCELL participants will be able to take advantage of the following services in a safe and drug free environment supervised by caring adults: academic enrichment/tutoring, mentoring, character education, assistance to behaviorally challenged students, cultural enrichment programs, parenting skills education, adult education assistance, job readiness training, and budgeting and finance programs |
WHAT ARE THE LEGACY AWARDS?
The 1st Annual Legacy awards banquet was held in 2009 to recognize our Tipton County African-American students who have excelled in the areas of academics, community service, and athletics. These students have exhibited a combination of successful attitudes and behaviors as well as intellectual capacity. They are all-stars because they have not given up on themselves. They have legitimate goals and are motivated by what they represent in terms of career aspirations.
During this program, we also want to recognize our vanguards and ‘waymakers.” These are people across Tipton County who are role models. They have paved the way and made a difference for our students.
