ACT
Information
Students who are planning to enter either a 4-year college
or university or a 2-year community should plan to take
ACT exam. It is recommended that most students take
this test for the first time in the spring of their
junior year. All students planning to take ACT should
plan to take the exam before the end of the first semester
of their senior year. Students can take the exams as
many times as they would like. Colleges will use the
highest score to award acceptance or scholarship money.
The state of Tennessee provides vouchers to pay for
each student to take a college entrance exam one time
only. The student should see Mr. Richardson to pick
up a voucher. The student should then include the voucher
in the registration materials when mailing the materials
to the testing center.
ACT has now made it possible to register online by using
your voucher. Instructions on how to register online
with it are on the voucher. Once registration is complete,
you must mail the voucher to the address given on the
voucher form or your ACT score will NOT be released.
Students will only be given ONE voucher; vouchers WILL
NOT be replaced if lost.
Registration materials for the ACT are available in
the Counseling Office. Students are responsible for
filling out the materials and mailing them in on their
own. Students may also register for the exams online
by visiting www.actstudent.org
CHS High School Code: 430-480
