 World History

Brighton High School ~ 8045 Highway 51 South – Brighton, TN  38011

From Mrs. Whaley:

For the past 20 plus years I have been a classroom teacher in both Special Education and General Education classrooms. My Master's degree from Regent University is in Reading and Special Education. I have been a corporate trainer for 2 years where I have incorporated my teaching experiences onto an adult level. I was missing the classroom and working with students so I have returned to the school setting. I believe that a positive attitude, willingness to learn and the openness to accept change are life's most important lessons. Learning is a life long process and my goal is to instill this concept into my students. I believe that we must lead by example which is why my next educational undertaking will be to earn my specialist degree and hopefully further my career by becoming a special education coordinating teacher.

My hobbies include playing with our little girl. Sometimes it is the best stress relief to go outside and "play" and see the world through her young eyes. I enjoy needle work; however, not much time is spent on this activity these days. I love to work in our house by doing decorative painting, interior furnishings, and changing things up to make them more comfortable and attractive.

I am so excited to be a part of Brighton High School. I look forward to a long and successful tenure here. Brighton High School is a fabulous organization that welcomes you as a family member. I am happy to be a part of this establishment. I am looking forward to many successes and triumphs.
