* A quarterly exam will be given following the 1st and 3rd 9 weeks only.

** A project will be assigned during the 2nd and 4th 9 weeks only.

Notebooks:  Each of you is expected to maintain an organized notebook for this class, as I may collect them.  The notebook should be a three ring binder with three distinct and clearly labeled sections consisting of

1.  Daily class notes.

          2.  Vocabulary and outlines.

            3.  Handouts, class work, homework, bell work, etc.

            Tests and Labs:  2-3 chapter tests will be given each nine weeks.  Labs will also be included in this category.  Labs will be graded on participation, lab write-ups, and post labs assessments.

            Quizzes and ACT:  6 quizzes will be given and the lowest score will be dropped each 9 weeks.  Wednesday ACTs will be graded and scored as a quiz (not one of the 6).  ACT scores are based off of predictions and effort.

            Homework and Classwork:  Homework will be assigned to reinforce classwork and notes.  You are expected to stay on pace with homework and turn in when assigned for full credit.  You may turn in work a day late for late credit.  Students who do not turn in assignments will be required to complete missing work during detention.  Work turned in from detention will be worth a maximum of a 70%.  In class assignments will also be included in this category and will count the same as a homework grade. 

            Tutoring:  There will be science tutoring provided by the school for those interested date and time tba.  I will be available for after school help days tba as well as by appointment.

This is a list of homework assignments for the 1st nine weeks.  I will announce each assignment as they come due.  You are expected to work on assignments when you have dead time in class.  This is not an exhaustive list of work and I reserve the right to add work as I deem necessary.
