BHS vs Cordova High School

The Cordova Wolves played at Brigthon Friday night. Quarterback Danny Potter completed 14 od 29 passes for 249 yards.

Treyshun Gardner led the offense with 107 total yards of offense: 91 rushing yards and 16 yards receiving. Sophomore Greg Starks had 21 yards in 4 receptions and 18 yards rushing. Isaiah Harris, a senior, picked up 19 yards rushing and 1 reception for 9 yards. Ricky Foster had 5 receptions for 94 yards; James Murray had 79 yards in 5 receptions. John Osborne had 24 yards receiving, while Joseph Owens had 1 reception for 6 yards.

Gardner also had a huge impact on defense, leading the team with 13 total tackles. Sophomore Zack Rogowski had 11 tackles. Senior captains also contributed to the defense: Terrel Zachery had 9 tackles, Cody Rogers had 8, James Murray had 7 tackles, and Lavonte Johnson had 4. Sophomore Rujonn Glass had 4 tackles. Greg Starks, Antonio Dickerson, and Sean Riley each had 3.

Ricky Foster, James Murray, Rujonn Glass, and Greg Starks each stood deep to return kickoff returns for a total of 56 yards in 6 carries. Foster scored 1 touchdown; James Murray and Treyshun Gardner scored 2 each. Kicker Drew Hopkins made 2 of the three point after kicks. The Wolves beat the Cardinals in a close game by a score of 34-32. The Cardinals are 2-1 for the season.
