Cameras in the Classroom
Student Generated in 2008
Security cameras are good in many ways. Should schools have security cameras on
school grounds and in classrooms?
Absolutely! It could be argued
that security cameras are waste of money and do not help, but their pros
outweigh their cons. Let’s review the
facts and see why schools should have security cameras on school grounds and in
classrooms.
First, let’s talk about keeping watch. If schools have security cameras, then they
are able to keep a better eye on their students. Schools could use the cameras in the case
that there is a fight in the hallway. The
administrators would know that students are fighting and would be able to act more
quickly and break it up. The schools can
also make sure that the students are doing what they are supposed to do. If the schools have cameras in the
classrooms, then administrators can make sure that students and teachers are
doing and acting like they should.
Second, let’s talk about wrecks in the parking lot. Wrecks were to happen in school parking lots,
and then the administrators can be aware of the situation. If there was to be a hit and run, then the
administrators could look on the cameras and see who it was that hit the
student or teacher\s car. These cameras
would also be good in the case that he students do not know who hit whom. The administrators could look on the security
camera and find out who hit the other person.
Third, let’s discuss break-ins. If robbers were to break
into the school, then the administrators could show the tapes to the police and
get a lead on identifying the crook. The
cameras could also be used in identifying the crook’s car. The police would be able to get a license
plate number and that would give them a further lead in identifying the crook.
Finally, all schools should have security cameras on
school grounds and in classrooms.
Security cameras aid in keeping a watchful eye on students in the
parking lot. Furthermore, security
cameras can be used in the case that there is a break-in. Wouldn’t you want your children to be
protected in their schools? If security
cameras are not in schools, then the community should push to have them
installed.
