Importance of Education

Nearly one billion people around the world entered the twentieth century unable to read or sign their names.  This is obviously very detrimental to the development of a country.  So, is education an important factor to the development of a country? Absolutely!  Although some may argue that you can hire others to help, this is usually impossible, and the benefits from education extremely outweigh this argument.  Let’s review the facts of why education is so important to a developing county.

First, let’s talk about the economy.  A county with superior education will allocate its resources much more effectively than a country with inferior education.  An educated country will manage its economy much better, preventing inflation and other economic slumps.  The country would therefore increase its overall wealth and value, securing its role in the world, be it a consumer country, production country, or a hybrid of the two.

Second, let’s discuss leadership.  A country needs an educated leader to secure its place in the world.  An educated leader would guide the country towards wealth and prosperity by making sensibly decisions.  An uneducated leader would make irrational decisions, such as participating in senseless wars, and ultimately lead to the country’s downfall.  With an educated leader, a country will only make positive decisions.

Finally, lets’ consider communication.  An educated country will have increased communication, which is essential to many aspects of a county.  Better communication would lead to increased political and security of the country.  Increased communication will also lead to an overall superior economy.  Businesses will have more consumers worldwide due to communication, thus increasing the economy’s value.

As you can plainly see, education is the single most important factor in the development of a county.  Education helps the economy and produces invaluable leaders.  Most importantly, however, education will result in better communication.  All counties should have compulsory educational programs, as the benefits are incredible.
