Policies and Procedures
I.
General
Rules
A. All rules and regulations of the Tipton County School Board and
B. Good English and good manners are to be used in this classroom at all times.
C. Be courteous and respectful to the teacher and to your classmates. Respect everyone’s right to learn and the teacher’s right to teach.
D. If you are caught cheating on any work, you will receive a zero on your work. Cheating violates the trust I have placed in you.
E. Treat any visitors and substitute teachers with respect.
II.
Classroom
Attendance
A. Bring all necessary materials to class. (Writing utensil (no light colored pens please!), 3 prong folder or notebook, paper (no spiral paper will be accepted))You will NOT be allowed to return to your locker, your car, etc.
B. Use the restroom facility BETWEEN classes. Only in extreme emergency situations will you be permitted to go to the restroom during class. You must get an administrator’s approval to be admitted back into the classroom.
C. Be in YOUR seat when the tardy bell rings. Remain in your seat until the dismissal bell rings and the teacher dismisses you.
D. Absenteeism
1. When you return to school after an absence, it is YOUR responsibility
to get your agenda stamped before classes begin at
2. Any student who comes to class without a properly stamped agenda book will be sent to the attendance office where you will receive an unexcused tardy for the day, class, etc. I will NOT accept any excuses of why you didn’t get your admit before you came to my class. If you are absent from my class (even checking out) I expect a properly stamped agenda book THE DAY you return to class.
E. Make up Work
1. It is your responsibility to obtain any work you missed during your absence. You have two class periods to make up your work and it must be turned in during the same nine weeks grading period. Exceptions to this rule are given only in extreme circumstances. An incomplete grade becomes an “F” four weeks from the date issued if the work in not completed.
2. You must make an appointment with me to make up a quiz
or test. I will not “beg” you to make it up. It is your responsibility!
3. If a test is announced on a day that you are present, but you
are absent on the day BEFORE the test, you are responsible for the test on the announced test day or on the day you return to class.
4. If you are absent on the day a test is announced, but return
to class the day the test is administered, you may choose to take the test, or you may make an appointment to make it up at another time during the same nine weeks grading period.
5. If you talk to me at the time of your absence, we can
usually work something out, but if you ignore the problem until it is a BIG problem, do not expect special treatment. REMEMBER: An incomplete grade on the report card becomes an “F” four weeks from the date issued if the work is NOT completed.
III.
Day
to Day
A. Announcements: When announcements are made, you are
EXPECTED to be QUIET, to listen, give the announcements your undivided attention, and to be respectful to your classmates and to me. Announcements are made for a purpose – to inform BHS students and faculty of important matters. Thank you for your cooperation.
B. Respect of Property: Respect the property of the teacher and your
fellow classmates. Do NOT sit at the teacher’s desk nor bother
anything in or on the desk, nor the contents of your fellow
classmates’ desks or backpacks, purses, etc. Do NOT adjust the
thermostat, turn the lights on or off (unless asked to by your
teacher), or open and close the window shade.
