Travel and Tourism
First Nine Weeks
1. You are to research your destination(s) and present it as a trip.
2. Explain (tell WHY) the type of travel – business or pleasure.
3. Time Frame: at least a weekend (3 days, 2 nights) and it cannot last longer than 2 weeks (14 days, 13 nights).
4. You must present this project to the class using
a. The picture of your destination (from me)
b. A visual aid – poster or handout regarding your destination
5. Written Report (3-5 pages) MLA Format (including Works Cited page and references throughout paper)
a. Reason for choosing your destination
b. Include all 4 elements of hospitality during your trip.
c. Attend, visit, tour (explore, etc.) at least THREE activities or attractions at your destination (that are school appropriate).
d. Describe the elements of activities. (recreation)
e. Include all the modes of transportation in which you will use on this trip. (What is your suggestion of how to get to your destination? Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each type of transportation in terms of cost, time, and convenience of the traveler.) (travel & tourism)
f. Include all Food choices – you must eat at one (or more) full service restaurant(s) per day. (food service)
g. Hotel/Resort – where are you staying during your visit to your destination? (lodging)
h. MONEY – prepare a budget for your expenses (that are real and referenced).
