It is my privilege to have you as a student in my class.  I look forward to working with you as well as working with your parents/guardians.  I use an assertive discipline plan in my classroom to provide a more effective learning environment.  One of my goals is to help you become more prepared for college and/or the workforce, so I look for employability skills in the day to day activities.  The discipline plan and the employability skills guideline will be in effect from the first day until the last day you are in my classroom. 

Classroom Rules:

  1. Be in class and seated before the tardy bell rings.
  2. Follow directions the first time they are given.
  3. Raise your hand for permission to speak.
  4. Clean up after yourself properly.
  5. Keep hands, feet and all belongings to yourself.

Consequences:

  1. Warning
  2. Private conference with teacher
  3. Private conference with teacher and a call to parent/guardian
  4. Teacher conference, parent called, parent/teacher conference
  5. Teacher/parent conference and Administration conference

 

Sports & Entertainment Marketing Objectives:

  1. The student will evaluate the significance and components of sports and entertainment as a viable industry.
  2. The student will recognize the value of product research and development in sports and entertainment.
  3. The student will evaluate the consideration involved in facility design.
  4. The student will interpret the importance of all aspects of product planning in sports and entertainment.
  5. The student will examine the role of advertising as a promotional tool in sports and entertainment.
  6. The student will compare public relations and advertising to learn the importance of generating positive publicity and avoiding negative publicity.
  7. The student will recognize event planning and other forms of sales promotion as components of the sports and entertainment promotional mix.
  8. The student will explore various facets of sponsorship in sports and entertainment including the acquisition of sponsors & sponsorship of events.
  9. The student will evaluate ticket marketing strategies which include design, distribution, and sales.
  10. The student will apply and relate other academic subject matter to sports and entertainment marketing.
  11. The student will apply organizational and leadership skills.
