FBLA PLEDGE I solemnly promise to uphold the aims and responsibilities of the Future Business Leaders of America; and as an active member, I shall strive to develop the qualities necessary in becoming a responsible business leader. FBLA CREED
I believe the
future depends on mutual understanding and cooperation among business,
industry, labor, religious, family, and educational institutions, as
well as people around the world. I agree to do my utmost to bring
about understanding and cooperation among all of these groups. I believe every
person should prepare for a useful occupation and carry on that
occupation and carry on that occupation in a manner that brings the
greatest good to the greatest number. I believe every
person should actively work toward improving social, political,
community and family life. I believe every
person has the right to earn a living at a useful occupation and that
this right should not be denied because of race, color, creed, sex or
handicap. I believe every
person should take responsibility for carrying out assigned tasks in a
manner that brings credit to self, associates, school and community. I believe I have the responsibility to work efficiently and to think clearly. I promise to use my abilities to make the world a better place for everyone. FBLA Goals Strengthen the confidence of students in themselves and their work. Create more interest in and understanding of American business enterprise. Encourage members in the development of individual projects which contribute to the improvement of homes, business and community. Develop character, prepare for useful citizenship and foster patriotism. Encourage and practice efficient money management. Encourage scholarship and promote school loyalty. Assist students in establishment of occupational goals. Facilitate the transition from school to work.

2006-2007 This year Mrs. Bird and myself plan to have an even better group going to competitions with anticipation of going to Nationals in Atlanta, GA with Future Business Leaders of America. Both clubs are excellent organizations and even though Tennessee has chosen to go with Future Business Leaders of America for their Business Professional Club at the high school level the same qualities will be instilled in these young people for them to become successful business professionals.
This is one of the
publications that is published four times a year at the high school and
middle school level. This publication features interviews with
successful business leaders and articles on leadership, career options,
postsecondary education alternatives, job-building skills, FBLA programs
and services, and local chapter news.
MTSU Fall Leadership Conference Mrs. Bird and Ms. Brasch attended the MTSU Fall Leadership Conference in Memphis, TN on Sept. 25th to get great ideas to bring back for the members to get excited and build up the organization. We are looking forward to an exceptional year.

How do you join you ask? You can get information on how to join from Mrs. Bird, rm 110 or Mrs. Brasch, rm 117. As a member of any club or organization you only get as much out of the organization as you contribute to the organization. We, Mrs. Bird and I, expect for you to join, have fun, take advantage of the opportunities that this organization offers, and be actively involved. We will be involved with a variety of fund raisers and community service projects for each of our members to understand the concept of teamwork, dedication, community and grow into Business Professionals.
Getting ready for competition is always a good time to check with members for feedback about your upcoming presentation. Their support and confidence can always settle the nerves. We have a great time but are serious as well. FBLA has rules and guidelines just like their are here at Brighton High School. For Instance: Dress Code
FBLA-PBL members and
advisers should develop an awareness of the image one's appearance
projects. The purpose of the dress code is to uphold the professional
image of the association and its members and to prepare students for the
business world. Appropriate attire is required for all attendees -
advisers, members, and guests - at all general sessions, competitive
events, regional meetings, workshops, and other activities unless
otherwise stated in the conference program. Conference name badges are
part of this dress code and must be worn for all conference functions. For
safety reasons, do not wear name badges when touring.
Females
Inappropriate attire, for both men and women, includes:
Clarification: Many women's two-piece suits are currently designed so that they do not require a blouse. Therefore, this will be accepted. In addition, sling-back shoes, open-toe shoes, and sleeveless dresses are accepted.
