Extra Credit Options
Standing
Extra Credit Assignments for + 20 pts in the extra credit.
You
may complete up to two extra credit assignments (40 points) from the following
list per nine weeks. Each assignment will be worth 20 points added into your
point total. These Assignments may be completed at any time during the nine
weeks, but are due no later than DECEMBER
11TH for the first semester and MAY 14TH for the second semester.
1.
Choose any topic we are studying and write a poem (a minimum of four
stanzas). Turn in a typed copy of your
poem. Content is important!
2. Choose any topic we are studying and
create a piece of artwork. Include a typed description of how yours
artwork
depicts the
concepts involved. Content is important!
3. Watch and episode of CSI, House, ER, Myth
Busters OR any other T.V. show. Create a product (essay, poster,
pamphlet,
flyer, etc.) to explain how biology relates to the
content of the episode. Be sure to indicate the TV show
watched and
the episode title or number.
4. Create a
word search or crossword puzzle with 30 or more Biology/Life Science Terms.
5.
Find a Biology/Life
Science worksheet on the internet,
complete it and turn it in. At least 30 questions.
6.
Find a Biology/Life
Science worksheet on the internet,
print out 20 copies and turn them in unanswered. (The worksheet must have at
least 30 questions.)
7.
Create, but do not answer, a 30-question worksheet for
someone else to complete. The questions must be multiple choice.
There must be 4 choices to choose from.
8.
Complete a 3 page, handwritten report about a
Biology/Life Science subject.
9.
Complete a Minimum 3 page outline on any chapter in
our Biology/Life Science Textbooks. ( must be formatted as I instruct the student)
10.
Create a POWERPOINT presentation with at least 25
slides that covers any chapter that we are working on in class. (This
assignment is worth 2 assignments but I must check it and you will have to fix
any problems I bring up.)
12. Come up with your own idea! Be sure to get my approval in
advance. You may present in front of the class for an
additional five points.
Label your work extra credit and every
answer must be correct in order to be given any credit. If even one is wrong
then you will get no credit. You must have your name, the period and the
subject at the top of the paper. Also the directions must be followed.
