strain I graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a B.S. in Elementary Education and a minor in Early Childhood Education. I later completed my M.S. degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a minor in Special Education.

I began teaching in 1984 in Fayette County where I taught Elementary Resource for 13 years and kindergarten for 4 years. I came to Brighton High School in August of 2001. I was initially nervous about teaching high school, but now I cannot imagine teaching anything else.

I live in Atoka. My hobbies are reading, watching movies, going to plays, traveling, and gardening. I read many kinds of books, but mysteries are my favorite. I am single with no children, but I have 2 nieces and 4 nephews who keep me busy.

I love teaching at BHS and look forward to a great year.

I've traveled the world twice over,
Met the famous; saints and sinners,
Poets and artists, kings and queens,
Old stars and hopeful beginners,
I've been where no-one's been before,
Learned secrets from writers and cooks
All with one library ticket
