I was born in Atlanta, Georgia and moved to Tennessee with my family in 1974. I graduated from Union University in Jackson, Tennessee in 1985 with a Bachelor of Music degree in
elementary and secondary education. 12 of my 24 years of teaching have been spent
at Brighton High school where I’ve taught choir, general music, and drama.
I live in Atoka and have a wonderful husband
and two teenage children. We attend Smyrna Baptist church in Burlison where my husband and I work with the music
ministry. My hobbies include refinishing furniture, Sudoku,
and singing. I love working with our BHS choirs and enjoy developing a greater
appreciation for music in our general music classes. When asked what I think is
the best thing about Brighton High school, without hesitation, I state that it’s the students!
They are fun, easy to work with, and ready to learn.
