From Mrs. Sanders:

After graduating from Jacobs High School in Algonquin, IL, I followed my cousin (the only relative I have in the area right now) to the University of Memphis to take advantage of a full ride scholarship. There, I met a lot of wonderful people, including my husband. I graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science. I majored in chemistry and minored in math. I also almost had enough credits for a physics major and a French minor as well. After graduation, I completed a semester of physics graduate school at U of M where I studied and worked on solar physics.

I have also worked as a laboratory chemist at Buckman Laboratories in Memphis and as a chemistry/physical science/physics teacher in Memphis City Schools.

My husband Jordan and I got married ten months ago, and we recently bought a house and moved from the Bartlett area to Brighton. We have a nice fenced-in backyard and hope to fill it with a couple of dogs adopted from an animal shelter.

Some of my favorite things to do are read, play piano, and try out new recipes, especially vegan ones.

I'm very proud and happy to be at Brighton High School. I absolutely love my students and coworkers. I can tell that it's going to be a great year.
