Upcoming School wide Events

 

v     Mrs. Heather will be available each Friday morning from 7:15-7:40 for tutoring. Tutoring will be for math skills only that will be assessed on TCAP. If your child needs extra help in math, please have them at school on Fridays by 7:15.

v     Please make sure your child has a 4 function calculator before TCAP. Students will be able to us these of the math section of the TCAP. The small calculators are perfect; no graphing calculators.

v     TCAP April 1st, & April 5-7, 2010.

v     School out April 2nd for Good Friday.

v     Spring Break April12-16th.

v     Picture money due Mar. 17th.

v     4th grade field trip April 22nd  leave school at 8:00 and return by 2:00; $9.00 per child and $8.00 per adult. Money due April 9th.

v     Tipton County Pre-school students will be picked up on wing 4 during TCAP days.

 

Upcoming Class Events

 

v     In reading we will review using context clues, drawing conclusions, fact and opinion and reading comprehension skills through our Social Studies lesson on Ch. 12 “A Growing Country”

v     In English we will review types of sentences, subject & predicates, subject-verb agreement, adjectives, and double negatives.

 

v     In social studies we will learn supply/demand, westward expansion, sectionalism and slavery, anti-slavery movement, and compromise.

v     In science we will understand motion, forces, gravity, frictions and simple machines.

v     Social Studies study guides for parts of Ch. 6, 7and 8 over the events before and during the American Revolution were handed out on March 1st. Government study guides were handed out March 19th.

v     Science study guides for Ch. 8 and 9 were handed out March 9th.

 

 

v     No spelling words this week.

v     In math we will review possible outcomes, transformations, lines, factors, measurement, fractions on a number line, patterns, ordering fractions, decimals, area, multiplying 2 digit numbers, and problem solving with triangles.
