Discipline Plan

Since lifelong success depends in part on self-discipline, I have developed a Classroom Discipline Plan that will give students guidance in making good decisions about their behavior and therefore, an opportunity to learn in a positive, safe, nurturing classroom environment.  Your child deserves the most positive educational climate possible for his/her growth, and I know that together we will make a difference in this process.  The plan below outlines our classroom rules, possible rewards, and consequences for appropriate and inappropriate behavior.

J    Rules

1.       Follow directions the FIRST time they are given.

2.      Keep hands, feet, and other objects to yourself.

3.     Have ALL materials ready to work.

4.     Be respectful and courteous to others.

5.      Be silent in the hallway AT ALL TIMES.

6.     Use best manners in the cafeteria.

To encourage students to follow our classroom rules, I will support appropriate behavior with praise, stickers, stamps, candy, homework passes, and other privileges.

However, if a student CHOOSES to break a rule, the following steps will be taken.

1.       Verbal warning

2.      Card pulled-lose 1 point from conduct grade

3.     Card pulled-lose 2 points and 10 minutes of recess

4.     Card pulled-lose 3 points and 20 minutes of recess

5.      Card pulled-lose 4 points and entire recess

6.     Card pulled-lose 5 points, entire recess, and call parents, note home, see Principal

*Zero Tolerance for bullying, fighting, weapons, and drugs.  These offenses will result in a referral to the office for discipline.

Conduct Grade Scale:

70-84= Needs Improvement

Below 70= Unsatisfactory
