Tennessee Academic VocabularyThe Tennessee Academic Vocabulary was generated by groups of volunteer subject matter and grade level specialists from Tennessee schools whose charge was to identify those terms and phrases that are important to student understanding of math, science, language arts and social studies. The words and phrases identified are not to be considered an all inclusive list. Teachers are encouraged to add terms and phases and/or create additional lists. The original document, Tennessee Academic Vocabulary: A Guide for Educators, is located on the Curriculum Standards page on the state website.
