I have lived in Tipton County for only a few years. My mother was a native of Tipton County but left many years ago to be a missionary in Columbia South America where I was born and raised. Having had this life experience I understand the importance of service to those with special needs. I began working at the preschool as a substitute but soon realized the importance of this work. I feel privileged to be a part of such a special team.
I have spent most of my teaching career as a Spanish and ESL instructor. I speak fluent Spanish and consider Columbia home as well as Tipton County. I have a Bachelor's degree from the University of North Alabama and a Master's in Romance Languages from Southern Illinois University. In the evening I work at the University of Tennessee Martin Center in Ripley where I teach Latin American History and Spanish.
