Parental Notifications (NCLB)

 

Migrant Students:
The Migrant Education Program through the Tennessee Department of Education provides support and instructional services to children and families who have migrated to Tennessee within the last 3 years. To qualify in the program the families must have migrated searching for temporary or seasonal work in agriculture or fishing activities. Homeless:
Preschool-aged and school-aged children have certain rights to protection under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Act. If you have questions contact Sharon Belew at (901)475-5803.




English Language Learners:
The U.S. Department of Education, Office of Civil Rights provides support and instructional services to children identified as having a native language other than English and whose difficulty in speaking, reading, writing or understanding the English language is an obstacle in classrooms where English is the only language of instruction.
