Under the Autism Spectrum Disorder you will find autism, Asperger's syndrome, savants, pervasive developmental disorder, fragile x syndrome, tourette’s syndrome, and others. Autism is a life long disorder with no present cure. If affects 1 in 154 individuals. Although the exact causes are still not know, it is genetic. Autism affects the social, behavioral, and communication skills. Asperger’s Syndrome affects the social, behavioral, and communication skills but these individuals typically have more speech and social skills than someone with autism. Routines, structure, and predictability make ‘life’ more successful for these individuals.
